An 8 way race to the finish between 8 different versions of Outrun - Which version will get to the goal 1st? 

These are all new 60 fps split screen Outrun comparisons. I'd made a (bit of a crude) '4 Ages of Outrun' video ages ago and I decided it was time to expand and improve on it.

The version of the original Outrun I'm using here is the version you get in Cannonball, hence the widescreen and 60 fps. If you want to find out more you can from here:

There are additional ports of Outrun and it's sequels that I could've also featured, but I decided to focus on 8 specific versions. Despite owning a Megadrive I didn't own Outrun or Outrun 2019 back in the day, but as a Megadrive owner I felt the need to include these versions (although ironically I think the PC Engine version of Outrun actually looks better than the Megadrive version). I did have the SMS version and then later the Saturn version.

There's a teeny bit of Battle Outrun footage that follows on from the SMS version here and additionally a bit of footage from the intro to the 'Outrun Bay' level from Sonic and All Star Transformed, that I use as a bit of a bridge (slowed down slightly) in a part of the screen whilst I'm waiting for some of the other versions of the game to finish.
