On April 1, 2010, the University of Oregon Libraries hosted an Edible Book Festival in Knight Library's Browsing Room. The public was invited to the event to view examples of edible books - which must be made from consumable components and reflect the concept of "the book" through the use of text, form or literary inspiration. The festival is part of the Year of the Book celebration being held on campus this year.
