Last Saturday night I had a real thrill going to see Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys in Stoughton Wisconsin. His voice was still as strong as ever. I was excited to walk away with his signature on my guitar strap along with his grandsons. I also took a picture of the back of his bus - after all, its not everyday I get to see the back of Ralph Stanley's bus. My son got to shake his hand while I was left holding the camera. I tell you what, this guy is a true living legend and for me a real gas to see. This song is an old one he did with his brother (who died in 1966. They asked if there were any requests and I yelled out this song. I was in the sixth row, and I think I startled a couple of the Clinch mountain Boys. I think they felt obligated to do it for me.
