I accepted the #AllisonHolkerChallenge for one main reason. This reason is for the opportunity. Sure the prizes are nice, but I just really want to get out to LA where I can really start working on myself. Some people tell me I'm crazy and that I shouldn't expect so much out of this or that I have to be more realistic about it, but I disagree with them. Getting this opportunity could really prove to these people that try and pull me back that I am ready to start taking on the industry. I know I have so much to learn and I am so eager to start growing as a dancer.. In my video you can obvioulsy see that it was recorded on the beach. This is because I don't really have a dance space to record it in. I come from a very small studio, so once I learned the basics there I had to push myself to learn more on my own. I have been doing a lot of this lately by going into NYC and taking classes that I'm not necessarily comfortable in. Just in the past couple of weeks I have seen a great improvement in myself from these classes, and also from Cli studios of course. This is why I chose a contemporary piece for my entry. My main style is hip hop, but for my entry I wanted to show how I want to push myself to become a stronger dancer by trying something different. My video deffinitley is not perfect, but thats okay because I think it's more important for me to show growth rather than doing something I'm used to perfect. I really do have such a tremendous passion for dance and its all I ever want to do. All I can do now is hope and pray that my video will be chosen, because this opportunity really does mean sooo much to me. I promise my intensions are good and that I'll take every opportunity that comes with and after this. I am so thankful that I even have the chance to follow my dreams because of this contest. I really appreciate everyone that has been supporting me and I couldn't thank you all enough for getting me this far already. Happy national dance day!!! I love you all, thank you!❤️
