LNER A4 Pacific No.60009 Union of South Africa took charge of The Yorkshireman express from Ealing Broadway to York on 20th October, 2018. We first see the express coasting slowly towards a red signal at Hasland to the south of Chesterfield. The train is just passing the location of the former Hasland steam shed. A Class 158 unit passes on the slow lines, presumably on a test run from Derby. Our next location is at Treeton near Rotherham, after South Africa has taken water near Barrow Hill. Fortunately, this time we saw just a little more effort from the loco, despite the assistance at the rear from Class 47 No.47832.
