The U.S. government's top economic officials appeared on Capitol Hill Tuesday to ask lawmakers to approve passage of a $700 billion rescue plan for the financial industry. Federal Reserve Chief Ben Bernanke and US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said the massive bailout is urgently needed to avoid financial disaster. But as VOA's Mil Arcega reports, there is growing frustration from members of both political parties over the hastily devised plan.
