Here is the second of 3 heats for the Boys' 1600 Meter Relay from the 2018 CIF (Southern Section) Division 2 Track and Field Prelims meet held on May 12, 2018 at Moorpark High School, just north of Thousand Oaks, California.

Commentary:  What a career progression for Abberton.  His frosh PR was 5:21. Last year, as a junior, he got washed out in Prelims with a 4:27.  This year, he wins this heat with a PR, goes on to Finals and is runner-up with a 4:12, is second at Masters with another PR and does pretty well at State.  One of the stories of the year.  Second-place Rasmussen and third-place Cowgill will be ones to watch next year.  4th-place Gonzalez literally comes out of nowhere.  His previous PR was 4:31.  That is the way you close your career!
