By the fall of 2011, bus #2286 was one of the last dozen that remained in service. The last official day of revenue service for these buses was December 16, 2011.

GM manufactured roughly 44,000 of these buses — affectionately referred to as "Fishbowls" for their rounded windshields and roofs. Considered as relics from another era, these buses were one of the most durable ad sturdiest ever made and were used ubiquitously across North America.
