This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Who can save you? Who can save us? Take a lyrical journey into the world of Atlas: a performer, mind changer, game caller. Passion and power are packed in this performance that makes us look into the reality of the problems and challenges we face as a society in the present and the future, if we don't take the time to open our eyes.

Atlas first began writing poetry in college as a way to release bottled up emotions. He writes, “Sometimes we hold onto things and carry them around with us and poetry was a way for me to drop the bags and turn the contents into something to inspire me. Then after feedback from friends that my work was actually decent enough to share I began to perform at open-mics around Austin Peay’s campus.”

The deeper he got into rhyme schemes and metaphors, he realized the power and influence that words carry and decided to use them for an even greater purpose. Atlas is a spoken word activist; the goal of his work is to inspire creativity, deep thought and action inside our communities and around the world.

“I aspire to inform and entertain simultaneously all in the idea of love and positive vibes.”

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
