Mark founded SpinningBytes in 2015, a company that develops text analytics solutions for its clients; in other words, they develop algorithms to detect patterns and nuances in text that previously could only be done by humans. With Artificial Intelligence gaining ground in sophistication every day, Mark will discuss the recent advances in Natural Language Processing (NLP): which covers areas such as topic detection, sentiment analysis, and chatbots. He aims to show how recent advances in Artificial Intelligence has dramatically improved the capabilities of NLP systems, and what this may lead to in the future. Mark Cieleback was born in Hagen, Germany; he studied computer science in Dortmund and then moved to Switzerland to complete his PhD at ETH. He has been a professor at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) for the last 5 years. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
