Dualism fosters competition and the latter, contrary to general presumptions, sustains complementary parts. The loss of competitiveness destroys the system. Dualism, competition, and complementarity in indigenous African systems - what less for the present world? From a multidisciplinary standpoint, this talk explores a fundamentally philosophical, but very practical, question.
