This video presents the Country Statement to the 34th Session of the FAO Asia Pacific Regional Conference (APRC 34, 9-13 April 2018, Fiji) by the Head of Delegation of the D.P.R. Korea, Chun Sik Jangea. The D.P.R. Korea presentation reviews the achievements of FAO over the last biennium but despite gains there is still much work to do to achieve SDG2, especially with climate change and decrease in water and other resources. The following issues are important: each country must formulate an agricultural policy and member states should increase the government budget for agriculture and rural development and science and technology must be used. It is necessary to provide economic global conditions. A peaceful environment is a prerequisite to achieving the SDGs but some countries have tried to check the development of developing countries, such as the sanctions imposed on the D.P.R.K. FAO and the UN have been critical in food supply.
