CrimsonRayne discusses next gen consoles, such as the PS4 and Xbox 720, but more specifically, how far graphics, texture quality and so on will actually go in the next generation of consoles. Bioware art director Neil Thompson recently claimed that while graphics and fidelity will definitely improve, it will be not be such a big leap as we saw from the PS2 to PS3 / Xbox to Xbox 360. He claims that the amount of work / manpower needed to achieve such a leap on each next gen PS4 / Xbox 720 console title would make budgets soar and profits dwindle. 

Crimson speculates on this opinion, as well as giving you a few thoughts of his own on what this next generation of consoles will bring to games and game development, and whether or not graphics and textures will still be the main innovation of the consoles or if we will see Sony and Microsoft going in another direction as we reach a graphics ceiling on current available technology.
