This shows my homemade rechargeable "solder battery" dissected after being load tested for several days. The cell still functions perfectly but a dark redish brown oxide deposit did fall off the positive electrode after severe complete discharging from a fully charged state. The electrodes are still good and I show them producing power even just sitting on a wet paper towel. The electrolyte used was food grade Alum and distilled water. The cell was "conditioned" by charging with 3v to 6v DC and then discharging through a 1 to 30mA load. This took several cycles before the cell became fully formed up. The cell's low grade electrical solder then takes on the two color appearance that I show in this video.
