Because without a description of what this god is like, how can I render an opinion? Without the dogma to paint a word picture, on what exactly am I supposed to comment? "God" is not some monolithic thing about which one must render a single opinion; there are MANY gods or many religions out there upon which to reflect, and I'm an atheist only because each of those gods has failed their test of existence, and not just because I've rejected "god" out of hand.
