More space news and info at: http://www.coconutsciencelab.com - at the same time that the massive sunspot, Active Region 12192, was producing solar flares, it was also covered with huge coronal loops, extending far out into space.

Coronal loops are found around sunspots and in active regions, and are associated with the closed magnetic field lines that connect magnetic regions on the solar surface. Many coronal loops last for days or weeks, but most change quite rapidly.

The movie is from October 26, 2014 and covers about 50 hours.
