German EMS responding:
A new emergency doctor car and a new ambulance from the Bavarian Red Cross EMS atation in the town of Amberg are responding to a call, passing the main fire station of the Amberg VFD. Both units are from the 2013 generation of state-wide EMS vehicles. The previous emergency doctor cars from the 2010 generation where built on a Skoda Octavia Scout 4x4 (67 units delivered), Skoda Superb 4x4 (16 units) and Ford S-MAX TDCi 4x2.(45 units) Now the 2013 generation is a BMW X3 20d xDrive (F25) 4x4, with a 135 kW and 380 Nm at 1750 to 2750 RPM, 1.995 cm³, 4 cyliner diesel engine with a top speed of 200 kph (124 mph). The new ambulance is a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 516 CDI 4x2 - a 4x4 offriad version is built as well. Both versions have a 120 kW and 360 Nm at 1400 to 2400 RPM, 2.143 cm³, 4 cyliner diesel engine with a top speed of 147 kph (91 mph) (the offroad version's top speed is at 131 kph (81 mph) . A third version based on the 2013 ambulance is the 2013 heavy-duty ambulance, but up to now there's only 1 prototype built and the other 2010 heavy duty ambulance still run. Differences between the 2010 and the 2013 ambulances is, that they now have intersection light, tinted windows and single LED rear and indicator lights instead of 'several lights in one box' together
