Valentina and her family are forced to move constantly and sleep in different shacks because they can't afford to pay to rent on what her mom earns as a street sweeper. Orphan’s Promise gave them a home of their own.

THE WHOLE STORY:
When her husband was sent to prison, Valentina had no way to provide for her children, so she got a job as a street sweeper.

Valentina remembers, “I was crying all the time because I did not have a place where I could live with my kids. It was such a disaster.”

They couldn’t afford rent, so most nights they wound up in dilapidated shacks sleeping on the cold ground. But Valentina never lost hope, and encouraged her children to pray.

“I always knew that God does not abandon those who love him,” says Valentina.

When Orphan's Promise learned about Valentina and her children, we knew the kids were in danger of winding up in an orphanage. So, we bought the family a home of their own.

“I could not believe that this is actually my home! Now I know that when I come from work nobody can send me and my children outside,” says Valentina.

And this is the family’s first home with running water.

Valentina remembers, “Before, I used to carry water here from across the street. In the winter sometimes it was freezing. Now, I can bathe my children, wash, and clean in the house.”
