Three short clips of music left hanging around on old dusty cassette tapes. I always wondered what they were and they've haunted me ever since so hopefully someone who hears them will know what some of them are. The first clip is from a "best-of" (?) compilation of the BBC comedy sketch show "Alas Smith and Jones" with Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones. I don't know what the sketch is as it is audio only. Sound like it might be a school, lots of kids - I don't know. The same "best-of" episode also had the Stanley Rogers Film Score Composer sketch, Mel and Griff talking about faking orgasms and Griff pulling a long piece of thread out of his ear while reading the news - "Yes I'm sorry, I had something in my ear". The piece of music sounds like Pet Shop Boys meets Jean Michelle Jarre. Second clip is from a radio station, possibly Germany. The frequency was 1098 LW and kept fading into the Ian Collins Show on Talk Radio UK, circa 1996. I thought it was Rondo Veneziano but I gave this piece of music to a collector and he told me it wasn't one of theirs. The third clip...I should apologise for this one. It was taken from a porn film called Babyface 1977 dir by Alex DeRenzy. You can just about hear the...er, squelchy noises...EEWW! I also once heard it in a repeat showing of Sons and Daughters quite some time ago (when Channel 5 were repeating it). Haven't got a clue on this one, could be anyone. Interestingly that same...ahem, adult film, also had an instrumental version of Tina and Ike Turner's Nutbush City Limits! Anyway, got less chance discovering what these three pieces of music are called if left on those cassette tapes; so I thought I may as well put them up on YouTube.
