Sunday... Last Race of the Season, for some... Met up at the Ilderton Motor Project in Deptford and jumped in the LDV so Chris could drive us to Wimbledon. GRUMPY, SERIOUS THANKS M8 !!, had picked up the car to fit a new clutch, pressure plate, bearings etc so we grabbed the race gear and set off. All the boys were there, all 11 of us! ---Bear PIT CREW.... PFG !--- We got to sunny Wimbledon and had a late breakfast !! Then we had a quick walk around the picturesque market and the rows and rows of cars for sale. We also met up with family and friends. Then it was time to go !!! First of all we found that adding water to your petrol is not a good idea... Then sorted the car through scrutineering. Then Charlie took to the track for the first race........ Could he make it to the end ? Shamon !! Then the second race.. We had to change the track rod ends and sort all the steering out, shorten a hose from the radiator that was leaking and we are off !! We made race 2 !! Almost to the end.. Then Keith towed us to the Pits. OOOps !! Sheered off the driveshaft and bent all the track rod ends..... But GRUMPY waved his magic Ford-Wand and all was good again ! Ready for race 3... Where Charlie rammed 2 cars off the road, one into the wall! Again tow-truck out and oh no we've run out of front steering spares....... Looks like its over... Then GRUMPY waves his Ford-wand,again, and seconds before the start of the DEMOLITION DERBY.... we're off !! Damn what a race !! We almost, well Charlie almost won it !! As you can see he and Keith had the days Largest / Loudest / Biggets Head on Colision, Flat out !! Well 4, yes Four races !! Joint 3rd overall, and many , many laps later we went home and ate loads of food...
