RBI's six month deadline to resolve large stressed assets ends today. Over 70 companies with total loans worth Rs 3.5 lakh crore stare at the prospect of heading to bankruptcy courts. However, banks are hopeful of resolving 15 cases without invoking insolvency proceedings. On this very day, RBI also got a judicial backing with the Allahabad HC refusing to give relief for power companies with large debt.
