(5 Dec 2018) Penelope Cruz admits she's trying not to think about how she could be nominated for a Golden Globe award this week, for her portrayal of Donatella Versace in "American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace." She spoke about the possibility Tuesday (4 DEC. 2018) in New York on a red carpet before the annual Chanel Metiers d'Art show. "I try not to think about that because you never know. If it happens it will be a great surprise but I cannot think you're expecting it. I don't think that would be a way to look at those things." Cruz's chances are solid, as earlier this year she was nominated for an Emmy award for her work on the show. She'll find out Thursday when the nominations are announced. The actress appears in the Chanel cruise campaign and described Karl Lagerfeld as a genius. "I think we can use the word genius to describe Karl. He's very unique and to spend time with him and see how much he knows about everything and how much curiosity he still has to keep growing and to keep learning and to get inspired. He works so hard and for me it's really an honor to be working with the brand now." Also in attendance was actress Margot Robbie, who rushed to the fashion show from a red carpet promoting her new movie "Mary Queen of Scots." Others there included Marion Cotillard, Diane Kruger, Lily Rose Depp and Teresa Palmer.
