This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Technology is opportunity, says Katrina Teague. What can we do to encourage more young women to enter the technology career fields? She discusses where we're falling short, and gives specific advice for building confidence and encouraging young women to enter STEM - science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Katrina is the Senior Vice President and Global Technology & Operations Vendor Executive at Bank of America, leading the organizations providing global sourcing, vendor strategy, risk and control.

Teague serves on the Bank of America Environmental Operations Council and co-chairs the Global Technology & Operations Diversity & Inclusion Council. She is an active mentor in LEAD for Women and Women in Technology & Operations, served as United Way Campaign executive champion, and is a long-standing member of The Arts & Science Council (ASC), the chief advocate, fundraiser, grant maker and leader for Charlotte-Mecklenburg's cultural community.
