Stopping M939 rim leaks once and for all

I am SO sick of fighting tires on the M925A1 or more accurately sick of fighting rims.  The 2 piece design that makes up most of my tires is prone to leaking past the orings once the rims get a bit rusty.  This is the one rim I have fought more than all the others, leaking despite my best efforts.  This year I told myself I was NOT going to put air in this tire every 4 days like I did last year.  A line drawn in the sand, my final stand.  Yeah well she dang near beat me anyways but in the end I licked it.

What I did in order to bring this rim into submission:

1 Wire cup wheel on the grinder to get all the chunky rust off.
2 Flap sanding disk in the grinder to take it back to bare metal and make any rough spots smooth like a baby's bottom.
3 Paint stripper to remove any paint from the bottom of rust pits painted over the last time I did this.
4 Chemical rust converter.  It is an acid you paint on to eat away all of the rust.
5 Hand wire brushing.  I used a brush with hard circular motions to really get in there.  I did this ON TOP OF the chemical etcher.  It is going to splatter acid on your dainty legs so I recommend not doing it in shorts.
6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the etcher no longer turns a rust color when you brush.
7 clean with water throughly and dry
8 Paint with a high quality metal paint, consider a quality primer first.
9 Use a paste tire soap with a good rust inhibitor and a 5/16 diameter oring when reassembling.

I had taken at this rim in the past with the wire wheel and cheap paint but I had never beaten her back all the way to gleaming steel like this before.

Seven days out with no pressure loss.  M'urica!
