JoAnn, Jason and I went mining for gemstones in San Diego! We had so much fun! We sifted through hundreds of pounds of dirt for tourmalines (pink, black, green and blue), aquamarine, kunzite, tourmalinated quartz, smoky quartz, crystal quartz, lepidolite and more!

We left with dirty faces, achy backs and legs, and a suntan! Was is worth it? Heck, yeah!!! Digging through rocks and finding treasure is such a primeval source of enjoyment!

Now, we just have to figure out how we want to wear these gems as jewelry. Perhaps a silver wire cage, bezel set charm, or maybe I'll drill holes in them!

We have plans to tumble polish them to a beautiful finish - but that's a video for another day! Aloha!
