Bestiary Entry

Genus: Rank VII Mark
Classification: Mutant Gargoyle

"What strange Change does Magicite work on creatures, a perfect Example being this Gargoyle of the Lhusu Mines. Its Form inspired the commonly held Misconception in Bhujerba that the Creatures in its Magicite mines are Visitors from an Otherworld. The Bill for this Monstrosity has been extant for some Time, yet none have appeared to answer it, and so it remains, though the Petitioner's Identity be long forgotten."

Battle

Diabolos tends to cast status-inflicting Magicks upon you, most notably Scourge. There's also slight chance of him casting Haste to Hasten himself, which can be quite deadly. As usual, buff your characters before fighting him, it is also recommended to use Bravery to hasten the battle. At one point of the battle, Diabolos will use "Force Barrier", which completely negates all attacks. During this period, Diabolos likes to use "Pyromania", which inflicts high Fire-elemental damage upon all characters in range. Should you feel this to be overwhelming, change your character's equipment that absorbs Fire whenever Diabolos readies it. He'll also use "Curse", which inflicts Confuse, Disease, Poison, and Sap on all targets in range. Have one character serve as your White Mage, and heal the plethora negative status that Diabolos threw at you as soon as you can. When around 60% of his HP is taken away, he'll build up an auto-counter barrier, which inflicts damage upon your character for every attack you deliver on Diabolos. Fortunately, Diabolos is not immune to Slow, which is exploitable via Nihopalaoa. Overall, the key of defeating Diabolos is to defeat him quickly. He is also weak to water-based attacks, so abuse it.
