Sochi Olympics lavish ceremony opens games

Russia has spent more than $50bln to stage the Winter games in Sochi. The lavish opening ceremony took place in front of a crowd of about 40 thousand people. The games though have been overshadowed by claims of corruption, security fears and human rights concerns. Al Jazeera's Rory Challands has more from Sochi.
