ASMR can be triggered by various stimuli, such as specific sounds (popular triggers include scissors, page turning, plastic bag crinkles, whispering, fabric scratching etc) or visual triggers such as hand movements, examination of everyday objects, close attention, light movements and so on. Each person is triggered by very different things, but the sensation itself is the same.
