This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Every living thing has its own body, and through movements of this body it reveals and expresses itself. This is a very natural phenomenon. However, humans seem to deny such natural act. People wear clothes that cover their bodies, and are educated to sometimes conceal his or her true self. The movements of our bodies become more limited, thus suppressing the imagination that is naturally shown. Yu Jin Gyu seeks to deliver a powerful message about the incomplete conversations modern people share with their hidden bodies.

Throughout his career as a professional mime artist, he tried to break away from norms and tradition. After a long search, he developed a unique style of his own. His style captures an inhuman existence and external force, draws it into form and shares it with audiences. Having worked as an art director at major festivals including 'Chuncheon Mime Festival' and having been an invited performer at major festivals, he is a leading figure in Korean Miming. As the body of modern people becomes more restricted day by day, he strives to find ways to instill imagination and free our body.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
