"This would not be coming to light if it hadn't been for Bradley Manning," O'Kane says. "We spent maybe six months trying to track down young American soldiers who served in Samara. Many of them knew what was going on there. In the end we found one guy called Neil Smith from Detroit who was 21 when he was there, who spoke out. ... but many were too frightened because of what happened to Bradley Manning."
