New Year Day 1996 and the "Friends of King Alfred Buses" take over Winchester's bus services for the day. Rides are free (and very popular) income from selling timetables, and all masterminded by James Freeman and the "Friends" plus local enthusiasts. King Alfred Bus Company was the local bus service. Forgive any snags - it's an old tape, thrice copied!
