Myshkin Ingawale, a TED 2012 Fellow, is co-founder of Biosense Technologies, a medical device venture focusing on point-of-care, non-invasive diagnostics. His team has developed a needle-free, affordable, portable device to monitor blood hemoglobin, vital for diagnosis treatment and anemia. The technology works on optical principles and gives out results instantly. These democratic diagnostic tools could potentially save one million children and pregnant woman every year and help improve the health outcomes for millions more. Myshkin has worked at Mckinsey & Company as a business consultant and as a researcher affiliated with MIT's SENSEable City Lab. He holds a FPM (PhD) in management information systems from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a B.Tech in electrical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Bhopal. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
