*This walk-through is specific for preparing a NEW hard drive to be formatted for working with FCP X. You can format your drive to work on only Macs, or both Mac and PC. At the end I explain a quick bit about partitioning a drive to have two sections, one for PC and one for the Mac. **NOTE this will erase everything on your drive. This is mostly for brand new drives. If you have contents on your hard drive back them up somewhere before formatting your drive. Then you can transfer them back to your newly formatted drive.
