FNS9 & Tokarev Party! at Spring Guns & Ammo

Just had my 30th birthday several days ago and Jim took me shooting on this day to help celebrate.  Originally the plan was to go to the Gander Mountain gun range, but due to classes, they were full.  We wound up enjoying some fun shooting at Spring Guns and Ammo, which has quickly become my go-to shooting range.

I got to meet a colleague of Jim's, Pablo.  He was a fun dude and previously served in the USMC.  

Today was mainly a day for handguns, but Jim did put some lead downrange with 'Katara,' the Goddess Purple Duracoated AR15 we painted in a previous video.  I put some rounds through my FNS 9 and even brought out the Zastava M57, which is a Romanian version of the Tokarev TT33.  If you've never seen one before, they're a pretty cool Russian gun design which drew heavily Browning designs and have a kind of 1911 look and feel.

There was no real mission for the day except to shoot.  As a result there was not real focus for the video.  A lot of things in this video were largely experimental for me in my current stage of development with using Lightworks video editor.  New to this video is my take on Picture-in-Picture, experimenting with using my Canon SX20IS almost solely as a dedicated shot-camera.  It lends itself to this role very well due to the high magnification lens.  Integral to the picture in picture initiative was development of my skills on the audio-syncing front.  I think the result is favorable for a first try and I'm only getting better and faster at it.
