NASA's robotic spacecraft Parker Solar Probe will probe the outer corona of the . It will swoop to within 6.2 million kilometers of the sun's surface, facing heat and radiation. The spacecraft  will provide new data on solar activity and make critical contributions to our ability to forecast major space-weather events that impacts life on Earth.
