Q: What are the requirements for PEI PNP Labour Impact Category applicant employers?

A: Employers who are supporting Labour Impact category applicants for the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program have the responsibility to ensure that the employment they're offering is full-time in an occupation for which the applicants have the necessary knowledge, and that that the employment is in accordance with federal and provincial standards, as well as the existing bargaining unit agreements.
The employment needs to be in Prince Edward Island. Employers need verify if the jobs that they're offering need accreditation or licensing in order to make sure that the applicants have the necessary credentials to be able to work in PEI.
Employers are also required to provide their supported applicants with an employment contract that includes the terms and conditions of the employment, and which has to be signed by the company's signing officer. Employers should also provide settlement support to the applicants, and a labour market opinion, if applicable.
They should also be ready to attend an interview at Immigration Services if it's needed, and to provide proof that they tried to recruit a Canadian worker for the job that has to be critical for their business.
