music & lyrics: Björn Jakobsson recorded in August 2017 at Ealsden Digital Studio Skärholmen from the album "Old Dogs and New Tricks" (Treplektra TREPCD 75) © Treplektra Produktion Heard an old nostalgic song the other day about the fact that we sometimes are too late to praise That time flies and we get older is such a cliché And another wrinkle is added to the face Some people could say these words I sing They’d say it as easy as pie But for me it’s not really an easy thing But I love you and that’s not a lie. Even clichés can carry truth And simple words can be profound Through all the lying days of my youth You helped me keep my feet on the ground You gave me a life and you gave me a soul Gave me answers in life’s eternal quiz You made me strong and you made me whole And I love you and that’s how it is Let’s look forward to many pleasant days Let’s raise a glass of cloudberry wine! Cheers to health and let’s hope it stays, Yes, both yours and mine! Let’s not be like many others who Never ever say what they think Let’s us hope for something new Let’s write it down in eternal ink Let’s let our lives stay strong There’s so many things we’ve been through So believe me when I sing this song that I love you and will always do
