Get ready to listen to music in a whole new way! Apple announced a new impressive speaker called the HomePod and it will be available to purchase later this year. Check out all the awesome features here!

Turn up the volume! Apple continues to impress us every year at their conferences with new admirable products and the newest one that everyone is raving about is a little incredible smart speaker called the HomePod. The seven-inch tall product, which was announced to the world on June 5, is being labeled as the rival to the Amazon Echo. It is powered by an A8 iPhone Chip and will cost $349. According to Apple, the HomePod is going to reinvent music in homes and will be available in Dec. 2017.

The speaker has six microphones and not only sounds amazing no matter where it’s placed in a room. It also has access to one of the largest music catalogs, Apple Music, which can be easily controlled through Wi-Fi and everyone’s favorite voice interaction persona, Siri. In addition to music, voice interaction can also help with household activities from lighting a light bulb to cooling a room. It eventually learns what you love so before you even have to complete a sentence it will automatically play that song you want or perform that task you need. Despite its range of abilities, privacy is a top priority and the HomePod will only collect information when voice interaction is activated.
Although Apple has avoided making any direct comparisons to the successful Echo, with the the amount of effort and praise put into the HomePod, we can only imagine it may have better sound especially since it has room adapting capabilities. However, when it comes to apps and pricing, the Echo may be top of the line with 10,000 third-party skills that allow you to do just about anything and a more affordable price of $179.99. Still, with Apple’s popularity and ability to constantly amaze us with products like the iPhone 8, we’re sure the HomePod will definitely be a hit!
