Best versions of The English Bible that I have found so far, based on Accuracy NKJV New King James Version NIV New International Version ESV English Standard Version TNIV Today's New International Version Many Bibles are written with good syntax making them a joy to read, but most are so inaccurate that I can not recommend them. But for someone that can't stand to read books with poor syntax here are the most accurate ones that sound like normal people talk........... TEV Today's English Version (Good News Bible) If after reading one of the above versions you wish to read two radically different versions I recommend these two, in order to get a feel for the different ways that the different religions manipulate the Bible to better match their doctrinal teachings. NWT New World Translation HCSB Holman Christian Standard Bible Bibles that are designed to appeal to certain target groups, but which are so inaccurate or which contain language that is so confusing, that I would never recommend them to anybody under any circumstances. MSG The Message Remix NLT New Living Translation (often marketed as The Book) TLB The Living Bible (also marketed as The Book) The Scriptures (Institute for Scripture Research) The Voice (Ecclesia Bible Society) HRV Hebraic-Roots Version Very poor translations of the Bible designed to appeal to the general public, that have been translated almost completely based on man made Church doctrine. These versions are more inaccurate than most. HCSB Holman Christian Standard Bible.
