Please vote TODAY ONLY, May 15, 2012, at http://www.100carsforgood.com. Anyone who followed the 2007 Michael Vick dogfighting case out of Surry, VA doesn't want to miss the continuing saga sure to bring a smile to any dog lover's face——the property, once home to such unspeakable violence, has "gone to the dogs," literally. A nonprofit organization, Dogs Deserve Better, has purchased the property and is on the ground, transforming it to The Good Newz Rehab Center for Chained and Penned Dogs. DDB, now in their tenth year, works solely for chained and penned dogs, seeking to bring these unfortunate canines into the home and family from backyards where they languish, suffer, and die alone——often with no laws to protect them. It's a new day for America's dogs. One where the DOGS are the victors, and to these victors go the spoils of love, freedom, and new, inside, homes and families to call their own. Your support is so greatly appreciated as they bring their Big Dream of a state-of-the-art rehab facility for chained and penned dogs to fruition. Thank you. Dogs Deserve Better has never yet been able to afford our own vehicle, so we have had to share or depend on the goodwill of volunteers or staff to transport our rescued dogs and supplies. Now that we are in the beginning phases of a facility with the Good Newz Rehab Center for Chained Dogs, the need for a truck of our own is more crucial than ever. We've hauled welded wire supplies to fence in eight acres so our rescued dogs can run, as well as pallets of dog food and thousands of pounds of posts and cement, all from the back of a minivan. The organization regularly reaches out to the community by not only providing rescue of dogs in need, but also takes on other programs such as winter straw campaigns and fencing programs for caretakers who want their dogs to become members of their pack. A truck to pick up and deliver these fencing supplies, dog food, straw, and other necessities for our canine friends would be SO much needed and appreciated! Thank you for your consideration.
