Another day of drama here in Hawaii when I entered the Whaler Store on Lewers Street today to witness a guy ripping up the store, eating food and scaring some customers. I speak to 2 young ladies who had taken shelter in the store, as this fellow was stalking them.

The brave shop keeper lady there chased him out of the store with a big stick so fast that the guy left his photo bus pass, his jacket and his flip flops on the floor in front of the cash register. The Honolulu Police were called and I gave a statement as a witness. The shop keeper lady was a total hero and deserves so much credit for her quick actions and bravery to keep tourists and customers safe today in Honolulu!

So I decided to go and find the guy.

I slipped down a one way alley here and found a few HPD guys in their cars and told them I was the witness and could identify him and that I would go find him if I could.

So I head down another alley way to Kalakaua Ave and make my way towards the beach, as I last saw him headed south. The odd thing was that I seen he had many layers of clothing on and had spotted him actually change t shirts on Lewers Street. But I was definitely looking for a dude with no shoes on!

Within about 5 minutes I spot him on the sidewalk. He then proceeds to attempt to car jack people in the middle of the one way street on Kalakaua Ave and I call 911. One of the HPD members who I just spoke with a few minutes ago, I saw coming from behind me on foot to apprehend him. (lots of 1 way streets here in Waikiki and it takes a while to go around).

And so he was arrested. Many charges are now pending against this young lad, but the streets of Honolulu are now a wee safer, I assume, with him in custody.

Another odd day this weekend here in Hawaii.

Stay safe folks and keep your wheels on the ground!
