Millions of rare birds have attacked sorghum plantations in Kapchorwa & Kwen districts destroying close to a thousand hectares of sorghum. The outbreak has already caused substantial losses to commercial farmers who grow sorghum for the local brewery industries. The Quellea birds have left the farmers on the verge of losing all that they had worked for despite their tireless efforts to contain them.
