It is said that being a naval officer is one of the most respected professions, it certainly takes a lot of specialized knowledge and great people skills to acheive this. In my humble opinion John Joyner certainly had all of these skills and then some. John and I both lived in Italy around the same time, John was stationed near Livorno teaching classes for the Italian Navy. We were walking in each others shadows as I like to say, bascially being in the same place and the same time unaware of each other. Years later we would meet aboard the USS Mount Hood, where John would be my boss. In this episode you will get to hear how we met, and have remained friends ever since.
