Blue Line of Delhi Metro
--------------------------------------
Two trains on the Blue Line of Delhi Metro cross each other on the 5.5 m high elevated viaduct between Dwarka Sector 12 and 13, in the twilight's reddish glow post sunset; as viewed from the terrace of my residential tower on May 19, 2015.
One train halts momentarily awaiting a clear signal. Trains on the Blue Line ply every two to five minutes throughout the day between 5 AM and 11 PM. covering several parts of the city.
The train moving from the east to west (with yellow lighting) is a Bombardier rake, originally imported from Germany but now manufactured at Savli, in Gujarat. The train moving in the opposite direction (with white lighting) is made by ROTEM in South Korea, and these are now being made in India by Bharat Earthmovers Limited (BEML) in Karnataka.
From a 8.5-km stretch in 2002, the network is now about 360 km in 2018. Once the remaining corridors are opened, the network will expand to approximately 390 km. Today Delhi Metro is the fourth largest in the world.

As in 2024, this view is not visible from this spot, owing to more buildings in the vicinity and the growth of trees along the roadside.
