(28 Oct 2018) A neighbor of the man charged in the deadly Pittsburgh shooting on Saturday described him as an "average 50-year-old dude". Chris Hall said Robert Bowers, his neighbour for the past two years, kept to himself but that apart from some late-night TV watching, there didn't seem to be any red flags. Bowers is accused of barging into a synagogue during a baby-naming ceremony at the Tree of Life Congregation and killing 11, and injuring six others, including four police officers. He traded gunfire with police and was shot multiple times but survived. He was charged late on Saturday with 29 federal counts, including weapons offenses and hate crimes. The shooting, described as one of the deadliest attacks on Jews in US history, came amid a rash of high-profile attacks in an increasingly divided country, including the pipe bombs mailed over the past week to prominent critics of President Donald Trump.
