Flooding on the Pompton River on August 28, 2011 by the flood gates at Hamburg Turnpike and Route 202. That's the worst I've ever seen it, even worse than the 1983 flood. CVS parking lot and car dealership under water. The river created a secondary river on the street that runs parallel to the river (a house washed off its foundation with 4 people inside). What a massive clean up. One reason not to live next to a river that floods.
