The European parliament is braced for the elections coming up in June. But although the importance of the body has grown over the years, voter participation has fallen continuously ever since they were introduced. At the last elections, just 46% of Europe's registered voters cast a ballot. To revive interest in Europe, several German cities have been holding "Citizen Forums". In the southern German city of Heidelberg, the organisers have been preparing to deal with Eurosceptic opinions as well.
