Side by side comparison of footage taken with the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ aerial camera in poor weather conditions vs the colour corrected version in Final Cut Pro X. The difference is stunning in many shots. On the original footage, there is a constant haze that removes image definition and colour. In reality, these were the actual weather conditions during shooting and I felt like I was wasting my time as the output would be brutal (which it is). However, after applying some colour correction in FCPX, the haze disappeared on most shots, image clarity and definition was greatly enhanced, and the overall output is significantly improved. My conclusion is that the camera on the Vision+ is plenty competent to capture enough information which allows for decent correction in post production. Given the flexibility of the Vision+ and the ability to see what you are filming in real time through FPV, the purchase of this camera is logical, assuming you have a bit of patience to make the necessary adjustments after shooting.
