Monthly geek merch subscriptions are popping up everywhere, and most are taking the Loot Crate tack of putting a lot of random stuff in a box every month under a broad theme. IndieBox is much more specific, and really interesting because of it. Indie games are almost exclusively digitally distributed, so unless you spent a ridiculous amount of money backing a Kickstarter for a super-rare physical edition, you probably won’t ever get a boxed copy of an indie game. IndieBox fixes that by offering boxed collector’s editions of indie games on a monthly basis. It’s a $20/month (plus shipping) service that offers a different game every month. IndieBox sent me three past boxes to check out: collector’s editions of Steamworld Dig, Rogue Legacy, and Super Win the Game. Every IndieBox game comes with a physical game box, a printed, color instruction manual, a soundtrack, stickers, and a USB drive with a DRM-free version of the game.
