A tribute to our beloved Asrai (21st Sept 2004 - 4th March 2012).

Asrai's mother (Anjushri) was fostered and eventually adopted by us from the AWL shelter on the Gold Coast Queensland. Anjushri was next on the list of pregnant mothers to be fostered out. As a friend jokingly put it, it was a "failed foster attempt" since we ended up eventually adopting 3 of the kittens (Zama, Asrai and Khensu) and Anjushri the mother. We found a good home for 2 of the other kittens not featured in the video.

Asrai was born 21st September 2004 and we have had the privilege of sharing her wonderful life and spirit. Asrai was a most vibrant, joyous, mischievous and loving individual. We couldn't capture all the wonderful aspects of our beloved Asrai on this vid, but we've managed to show a little glimpse of her sweet being. We love her very much and we will always love her. She will be in our heart always.

Sadly Asrai's life was cut short on 4th March 2012 due to a sudden onset of an illness that went asymptomatic for many years despite our regular vet visits and observation. To find out more about my personal experience with this silent killer -- feline heart disease -- please view my blog entry. http://veganismisnonviolence.wordpress.com/2012/03/09/the-silent-killer-heart-disease-in-cats/

And please friends don't forget that *all* other animals love life. *All* other animals deserve at least one right — the right not to be used as property and veganism is the step to taking that right seriously. Let's stop participating in violence. Let's stop eating, wearing and using other animals. Please go vegan and please foster and adopt nonhuman animals from shelters, in particular elderly and disabled animals.

Go vegan. It's your first step to a nonviolent life. http://www.VeganismisNonviolence.com
